Roller coaster duathlon for Jael

Due to a back injury, Jael Kauth has had to go through extensive physiotherapy, strength training, and swimming sessions over the past few weeks.
Running and cycling were mostly put on hold, except for a brief "taste of blood" at the Eglisau Duathlon.

However, last Sunday, the Powerman Zofingen was on the schedule, and Jael took on the challenge: with no specific preparation, she tackled her second duathlon, determined to manage the emotional highs and lows.

During the first 10 km run, Jael remained unfazed by the competition pulling ahead and stuck to her pace. On the climbs of the bike course, she managed to overtake some of her competitors but was repeatedly caught by the time trial riders. Unfortunately, her back began to trouble her more and more, making it nearly impossible to maintain an aerodynamic position.
In the end, Jael pushed through the 5 km run with gradients as steep as 7% and finished 11th overall.

However, more important than any placement in this race is the determination and confidence to return to running and cycling with a healthy back.

So all I can say is: Jael, I’m super proud of the path you're on!!!
You know: hurry slowly and great things take time! We will make it. 🤝
